Akio Shiibashi (born June 9, 1953) is a Japanese engineer and Ph.D. He served as the Deputy General Manager and Planning Department Head at the IT/Suica Business Division of East Japan Railway Company, where he led the development of Suica, a smart card service. From 2013, he was the President of JR East Mechatronics, a subsidiary of JR East. In 2023, he became the Chairman of the Local Government Information Systems Organization, which manages the issuance of My Number cards. He hails from Saitama Prefecture.
