Akira Shichijō is a Japanese politician born on August 1, 1951, affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party. He represents the House of Representatives in Japan's Diet. Shichijō hails from Kamiita in Tokushima and earned his degree from Tokyo University of Agriculture. Prior to his national role, he served four terms in the Tokushima Prefecture assembly starting in 1981. Notably, he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 and also held the position of mayor of Kamiita from 2013 to 2017.
