Alain Dodier is a French comic book artist born on May 2, 1955, in Dunkirk. A self-taught artist, he began publishing his work in fanzines and magazines in the 1970s, including Pistil. His short stories appeared in Tintin and Djin in 1980. Collaborating with writer Pierre Makyo, he created the fantasy-comedy Gully for Mercredi, later continued in Spirou and published in six albums by Dupuis. In 1982, he launched his most well-known series, Jackie Kottwitz, initially with Makyo and Serge Le Tendre, and later on his own, resulting in 27 published albums.
