Alan Best was an American politician and businessman, born on January 8, 1906, in St. Louis, Missouri. He became involved in the merchandise business and was an active member of the Republican Party. Best served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1947 until his death in 1953. He lived in Chicago, Illinois, with his wife and family. He passed away at the Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago after being a patient there for five weeks.
