Alan Bullock (1914 – 2004) was a prominent British historian known for his comprehensive works on Adolf Hitler, including 'Hitler: A Study in Tyranny' published in 1952. This was the first detailed biography of Hitler, portraying him as an opportunistic authoritarian. Bullock also authored 'The Human Tradition in the West' (1985) and 'Ernest Bevin: A Biography.' His notable work 'Hitler and Stalin: Parallel Lives' (1991) compares the two leaders and reflects on the characteristics of their generation. He was knighted in 1972 and served as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
