Alan Francis Clutton-Brock was an English art critic and essayist born on October 8, 1904, in Weybridge, Surrey. Educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge, he served as art critic for The Times from 1945 to 1955. Clutton-Brock held significant positions including trustee of the National Gallery and Slade Professor of Fine Art. He authored several books, including a biography of William Blake and a detective story titled 'Murder at Liberty Hall'. A Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve member during WWII, he passed away on December 18, 1976.
