The Venerable Alan Stanley Giles was an influential Anglican priest, serving extensively in the mid-20th century. Born into a religious family, he was educated at Manchester Grammar School and Oxford. Ordained in 1932, he significantly contributed to the RAF as a Chaplain, achieving the rank of Archdeacon in 1953. His service included being a prisoner of war in Java during WWII. Additionally, he served as an Honorary Chaplain to the monarchy and was Dean of Jersey from 1959 to 1970, impacting many lives in his ministry.
