Alan Jones is an English electric bassist and session musician, born on February 6, 1947, in London, England. Initially a guitarist, he switched to bass after hearing bassist Jet Harris. He is well-known for his work as a session bassist with the group The Shadows from 1978 to 1989 and has collaborated with artists like Tom Jones and Olivia Newton-John. Jones has participated in over a thousand recording sessions and contributed to 33 number one hit singles. He has also played in numerous musicals across London theaters.
