Albert 'Alec' Edward Fildes was an English professional rugby league footballer born on February 9, 1901, in Runcorn, Cheshire. He played prominently in the 1920s and 1930s as a prop, second-row, or loose forward for clubs including St Helens Recs and St Helens. Fildes represented Great Britain and England in numerous international matches. In addition to his playing career, he later became the landlord of The White Hart Hotel in St Helens, where he passed away in September 1976 at the age of 75.
