Albert Frederick Modley was an English variety entertainer and comedian born on March 3, 1901, in Liverpool. He began his career in entertainment after performing in local pubs while working as a railway porter. Known for his Yorkshire dialect and oversized peaked cap, he appeared in numerous revues and pantomimes, and toured with his show 'On with the Modley'. Modley made significant contributions to BBC radio and television, including a notable role in 'The Good Old Days'. He passed away in Morecambe on February 23, 1979, at the age of 77.
