Albert (Peto) Nicholas was a Cook Islands politician born on Rarotonga on May 9, 1951. He served in the Cook Islands Parliament for 18 years, representing the Avatiu–Ruatonga–Palmerston seat. Nicholas was first elected in 1994 as a member of the Alliance Party and later joined the New Alliance Party. After a dispute in 2010, he founded the Party Tumu and contested the elections but was unsuccessful. He passed away due to a heart attack on August 15, 2012, while driving.
