Post-1964 coup, he was exiled, involved in the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) since 1972. He served as a federal deputy four times, was a prominent politician in Goiás, and held roles in environmental governance. Arantes is recognized for his leadership and political contributions, marrying twice and having two children.
