Alec Coles OBE FRSA, born on January 3, 1959, is a prominent museum leader who has served as the CEO of the Western Australian Museum since March 2010. He holds degrees from the University of Leicester, Newcastle University, and the University of East Anglia. Coles has previously held the positions of Chief Executive of the Northumberland Wildlife Trust and Director of Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. Notably, he was appointed OBE for services to museums and received the honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Western Australia in 2017.
