Victor Alexander Cooke, Baron Cooke of Islandreagh, was a notable Ulster Unionist Party politician in Northern Ireland. Born on 18 October 1920, he was educated at Marlborough College and Trinity College, Cambridge. Cooke served in the Royal Navy during World War II and held various significant positions, including chairman of Harland and Wolff and director of Northern Ireland Airports. He was a Senator in the former Parliament of Northern Ireland from 1961 to 1968 and became a life peer in 1992. Cooke passed away on 13 November 2007, at the age of 87.
