Alecu Ivan Ghilia, born Alexandru Ivan on March 1, 1930, in Șendriceni, Botoșani, Romania, was a Romanian writer and journalist. He authored novels, short stories, and poetry. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Iași (1948-1950) and the Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest (1950-1953). Ghilia served as an editor for various literary publications, including Contemporanul and Gazeta literară, and was the chief editor of the magazine Luminița. He also worked as the chief editor of the screenplay department at the Bucharest Cinematographic Studio (1967-1969).
