Jorge Alejandro Muyshondt Álvarez was a Salvadoran politician who served as national security advisor to President Nayib Bukele from 2019 to 2023. He was previously Bukele's security advisor while he was mayor of San Salvador. In July 2023, Muyshondt made allegations against a deputy which led to an arrest. Later, he was arrested himself, accused of being a double agent. Suffering a stroke in October 2023, he died in custody in February 2024, with his family alleging government torture and silencing.
