He earned a medical degree from Central del Este University and later migrated to the U.S., opening eight dental clinics across New York City. In May 2006, he was elected senator with 50.46% of the votes but faced controversy over low participation and was investigated for alleged Medicare fraud, leading to his removal from office in 2010.
