Aleksander Janežič was a Slovenian cardiologist born on April 6, 1925, in Ljubljana and passed away in 2012. He graduated from the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Medicine in 1951, obtained his internal medicine specialization in 1960, and completed his doctorate in 1974. Janežič furthered his training in the UK, France, Belgium, and Germany. He began working at the medical faculty in 1958, became a full professor in 1976, and in 1982, he led the Center for Cardiovascular Diseases at the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana.
