Aleksandr Sharov, born Shur Israelievich Nyurenberg on April 12, 1909, in Kyiv, was a Russian children's writer. He graduated from the Faculty of Biology at Moscow Humanitarian University and worked as a correspondent in the scientific department of the newspaper Izvestia. From 1942, he became a member of the Writers' Union and worked as a journalist for Ogonyok from 1947 to 1949. Starting in the late 1950s, he began writing fairy tales and stories for children, and his works were translated into Hungarian and German.
