Aleksandr Sokovnin (September 12, 1947 – September 15, 2018) was a Soviet footballer who played as a defender and midfielder, later becoming a coach in Russia. He spent most of his playing career at FC Dynamo Kirov from 1965 to 1972 and in 1974, appearing in 205 matches and scoring 9 goals. He coached the Kirov team multiple times between 1984 and 1999 and also led FC Elektron in the early 1990s. He received awards for his contributions to the sport before passing away in 2018.
