She played for the handball club 'Luch' in Moscow since 2005 and served as the team's captain. Nikishova represented the Russian youth national team and participated in the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 2008/09. She has a degree from the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and has managed sports programs. As of February 2023, she was appointed as the deputy head of the Department of Sports in Moscow.
