Alexey Viktorovich Galkin is a former Russian GRU officer who served as a senior lieutenant. He became known for making claims about the Buynaksk apartment bombings while being tortured by Chechen separatists. Galkin alleged that these bombings were orchestrated by a group of twelve GRU officers under the orders of the GRU director. His testimony was later documented by journalist Robert Young Pelton, who was interviewing the separatists at the time. Galkin eventually escaped his captors and maintained that his confession was obtained through torture.
