Aleksey Kirsanovich Redko was a Soviet and Ukrainian sculptor born on April 15, 1948, in Voroshilovgrad, Ukrainian SSR. He passed away on May 15, 2016, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Redko was known for creating numerous monuments and memorials throughout Kyiv, various cities in Ukraine, and abroad. Some of his notable works include reliefs in the Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II (Kyiv, 1980), the 'Glory' memorial (Rovenki, 1982), and the Taras Shevchenko monument in Bratislava, Slovakia (1995).
