Aletta Clémence Beaujon was a Dutch poet and clinical psychologist from the Dutch Caribbean, born on May 1, 1933, in Curaçao. She later lived in the Netherlands and Aruba. Beaujon published poetry in Dutch, English, and Papiamento while practicing as a clinical psychologist. After her death on July 3, 2001, unpublished poems were discovered and released in 2009. She was raised in a Protestant upper-class family in Willemstad, and studied criminal psychology and child psychology at Northwestern University, graduating in 1955 before returning to Curaçao.
