He achieved notable success in junior competitions, winning the Oceania Championships in Points Race and Team Pursuit in 2008, and becoming the Australian champion in Points Race and Scratch in 2009. Carver also secured a gold medal at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Moscow alongside Luke Durbridge. Additionally, he achieved road racing victories in 2009, including the MacArthur CC Open Criterium and a stage at the Tour of the Murray River. He has been riding for the Australian team Jayco-Skins since 2010.
