As a descendant of Stephen Moulton, he founded Moulton Development Ltd after Avon Rubber acquired his family company. He collaborated with Alec Issigonis on the BMC Mini and introduced the Moulton bicycle, recognized for its innovative design, including rubber suspension and small wheels, introduced alongside the Mini in 1959. He served as Vice President of the Royal Academy of Engineering and was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
