Alexander George Oliphant was a Scottish painter born on 2 May 1911 in Grangemouth, Scotland. He gained recognition for his art, notably winning the Guthrie Award in 1936 for his oil painting titled 'David Kerr Esq.'. In his later years, he transitioned from painting to illustrating comic books, contributing his creative skills to the popular Eagle comic until his passing on 18 November 1971.
