Sir Alexander Norman Halliday is a prominent British geochemist and academic, currently serving as the Founding Dean Emeritus of the Columbia Climate School and the Former Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. He joined the Earth Institute in April 2018, having previously spent over ten years at the University of Oxford's Department of Earth Sciences, where he held the position of dean of science and engineering. Halliday is also a distinguished professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University.
