Alexander Martynovich Ter-Krikorov (born October 19, 1932) is a professor at the Department of Higher Mathematics and a distinguished professor at MIPT, co-author of a well-known textbook on mathematical analysis. He led research on the consequences of nuclear explosions, particularly the theory of internal waves and soil strength. He proved the existence theorem for solitary waves on the surface of heavy ideal incompressible fluids and won recognition for his work on tsunami-related wave behavior.
