Alexandru Ciocâlteu is a Romanian politician, physician, poet, and writer born on December 9, 1949, in Craiova, Romania. He was elected to the legislature in 2004-2008 with the PRM party, later became an independent deputy in June 2005, and joined PD in February 2006, which later transformed into PD-L. During his parliamentary career, he was part of friendship groups with France and Germany. He is also a co-inventor of a dialysis machine awarded at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in 2010.
