He was born on April 22, 1925, in Ismail, Romania, and passed away on July 12, 2011, in Chișinău, Moldova. Gromov is recognized as a pioneer of the science fiction genre in post-war Moldova. He authored 20 prose books and translated over 20 works from French, Italian, and Russian, promoting the Romanian language and national values. He served as the first editor of the magazine 'Intellectus'.
