Alfred Heinz Kettmann was a German painter and graphic artist born on March 17, 1912, in Annaberg, Erzgebirge. After finishing his secondary education, he trained as a graphic designer and worked in various cities until 1945. Post-war, he settled in Bamberg, where he taught art courses and focused on abstract graphic art influenced by Asian calligraphy. He was recognized with the Berganzapreis in 2007, and his works are noted for their calligraphic abstraction. Kettmann passed away on December 28, 2010, in Crailsheim.
