Alfredo 'Chocolate' Armenteros was a Cuban jazz and Cuban music trumpeter born on April 4, 1928, in Santa Clara, Cuba. He began his musical career in a band led by René Álvarez called Conjunto Los Astros and later performed with Arsenio Rodríguez. The nickname 'Chocolate' originated from a mix-up with boxer Kid Chocolate. He was a member of the renowned Cuban group Sonora Matancera from 1977 to 1980 and collaborated with many famous tropical music artists, including José Fajardo and Machito.
