Ali al-Marhun was a prominent Saudi Shia cleric, writer, and poet, born on February 9, 1916, in Umm al-Hamam, Qatif, to a well-known family. He received early education in traditional schools, mastering Arabic language and Quran memorization before twenty. He then studied religious sciences in Najaf under notable scholars. On returning home, he undertook religious and charitable duties while nurturing his passion for literature, beginning his writing career in 1947. He published numerous books and poetry collections and passed away on January 13, 2010, at the age of 93, buried at Al-Habaka cemetery.
