Often referred to as 'Mrs. Kitchen' and Sweden's leading kitchen expert, Thiberg was trained at Chalmers in Gothenburg. She served at Zimdahls architect office and later as an assistant at Chalmers. She conducted research for the National Institute for Building Research and Consumer Institute focused on kitchen design. Thiberg published a notable guide on kitchen planning and has been involved in standards development through her work with Byggstandardiseringen and SIS.
