Aliyar Safarli was an Azerbaijani literary scholar, text specialist, and educational figure. He was a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union and held a Ph.D. in Philology, which he attained in 1983. In 1998, he became a professor and served as a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan since 1989. Born on December 28, 1937, in Anabad, Ordubad District, he passed away on January 4, 2017, in Baku.
