Alkiviadis Stefanis, born on October 7, 1959, is a Greek politician and retired general of the Hellenic Armed Forces, currently serving as the political governor of Mount Athos since August 6, 2024. He was the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff from 2017 to 2019, and served as Deputy Minister of National Defense from 2019 to 2021. Between 2022 and 2023, he acted as an advisor on issues related to border areas and Mount Athos in Kyriakos Mitsotakis's government. In the local elections of October 2023, he was a candidate for the regional governor of the North Aegean with New Democracy.
