Almir Santos Pinto was a Brazilian physician and politician born on February 15, 1913. He served as a state secretary in Ceará on four occasions and was the mayor from 1942 to 1946. A prominent member of the PSD party, he was elected state deputy several times from 1947 to 1962 before joining ARENA after the 1964 Military Regime. He was re-elected in 1966, 1970, and 1974. Pinto was president of the State Assembly three times and assumed the state government on multiple occasions. In 1978, he became the first alternate for Senator César Cals.
