Almudena Fontecha López is a Spanish feminist trade unionist born on February 28, 1963, in Los Yebenes, Toledo. She has been prominent in developing equality policies within the General Union of Workers (UGT). Since joining the executive in 1995, she held various positions, including Secretary of Social Action and Secretary of Equality, dealing with issues such as immigration, gender equality, and disability until 2016. In 2005, she became the first woman to serve as vice president of the Economic and Social Council of the State and co-founded the UGT Women's Leaders School.
