Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam, also known as K. J. Alphons, is an Indian civil servant, advocate, and politician born on August 8, 1953. He served as the Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism in Narendra Modi's first ministry and held additional responsibilities for Electronics and Information Technology. A member of the 1979 batch of the Indian Administrative Service from Kerala, he was the Commissioner of the Delhi Development Authority. Kannanthanam joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2012 after being an MLA representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala.
