Colquhoun competed in the 1960 Rome Olympics, where she won a silver medal in the women's 4x100 meters freestyle relay, alongside notable swimmers such as Dawn Fraser and Lorraine Crapp. Although selected as a reserve for the Melbourne Games in 1956, she did not compete. Additionally, she achieved success at the 1958 Commonwealth Games, securing three medals: one gold, one silver, and one bronze.
