Aminata Maïga Ka (1940–2005) was a Senegalese writer and political activist known for addressing social issues in Senegal from a female perspective. She was born in Saint-Louis into a Muslim family and was educated in Senegal, France, and the United States. In addition to her literary career, she worked as an English teacher and for organizations like UNESCO. A member of the Parti socialiste, she also critiqued the works of prominent authors such as Mariama Bâ and Aminata Sow Fall. Aminata was married to journalist Abdou Anta Ka and had six children.
