He gained attention during the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 for falsely posing as an Iranian reporter. Asgharnejad has hosted shows such as 'Amir og Odin' on VGTV and starred in 'Oslo Zoo' on NRK1. He participated in TVNorge's 'Kongen befaler' in 2021 and was involved in various comedy projects. His artwork was showcased at the Statens Høstutstilling in 2022.
