Dr. Amir Hamudi Hasan al-Sadi was an Iraqi chemical engineer, researcher, and politician who held various positions during the Ba'ath Party's rule in Iraq. He earned a degree in chemistry in Germany and a PhD in London. He served as Minister of Industry and Minerals from 1991 to 1993 and as a scientific advisor to Saddam Hussein until the American invasion. Listed as a wanted Iraqi by the US, he surrendered in April 2003 and denied Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction. He later faced financial sanctions under Iraqi law in 2017.
