Amitava Raychaudhuri is an Indian theoretical particle physicist. He is a distinguished retired professor in the Department of Physics at the Rajabazar Science College of the University of Calcutta. Previously, he held the Sir Taraknath Palit Chair professorship at the same college. He is also the nephew of the renowned Indian physicist Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri.
