Amos Dagan (Dumbo) was a pioneering figure in radar technology within the Israeli Navy. Born on April 15, 1933, he served as a lieutenant colonel and was instrumental in the development of the Dagon radar system at Elta. Dagan was also an electrical and electronics officer on British-built destroyers and participated in the refurbishment of Israel's first submarines, INS Tanin and INS Rahav. His contributions to radar technology earned him the Israel Security Prize in 1974. He passed away on August 9, 2022.
