Amos Stanley Waiaru OBE (1944-2011) was a prominent Solomon Islands divine who served as the third Archbishop of the Province of Melanesia. He was educated at the Bishop Patteson Theological Centre and Pacific Theological College. Waiaru was ordained a deacon in 1972 and a priest in 1976. He began his ministry as Chaplain at Vureas High School in Vanuatu and served as the Bishop of Temotu from 1981 to 1987 before becoming Archbishop of Melanesia in 1988.
