Amy Dunker is an American composer, trumpeter, and music educator born on December 23, 1964, in Jackson, Minnesota. She began playing the trumpet in her high school's band and earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Morningside College before obtaining a master's degree in trumpet at the University of South Dakota. Dunker furthered her education in composition at Butler University and the University of Missouri. Currently, she is a professor at Clarke University, teaching music theory, composition, and brass music, while also composing works for various ensembles and instruments.
