Amy Lee, born on December 13, 1981, is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. She is the lead vocalist of the Grammy Award-winning rock band Evanescence, which she co-founded in 1995 with guitarist Ben Moody. Currently, she is the only original member remaining in the band and contributes to writing all their songs. In 2008, she was honored by the National Music Publishers' Association for her individual achievements as a singer-songwriter. Her musical inspirations range from classical composers to contemporary artists.
