She is the daughter of the poet Yolanda Rodríguez Cartland and Luis Westphalen Milano, and the niece of poet Emilio Adolfo Westphalen. She is married to Francisco Miró-Quesada Rada, the director of the newspaper El Comercio and a former ambassador to France.
